Davy Crockett Lake.. Located In Crockett County, 5 miles west of Humboldt (Gibson County) on Highway 152. Approximately 87 acres providing facilities for fishing and boating. Also location for Humboldt Fish Hatchery. A TWRA Managed Lake.
Me and my friends fished this lake as a kid, used to be called Humboldt Lake years ago. We had the best luck on crappie and brim.
Some of these lakes are operated by private concessionaires under contract and offer complete services for the fishing public. Some concessionaire operated lakes may be closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
Lakes will open one-half hour before sunrise to one-half hour after sunset. Camping may be permitted after obtaining permission from the lake manager and only in designated areas. A daily lake permit of $3.00, in addition to the regular fishing license, is required to fish most of these lakes. The lakes are open to fishing all week . When the office is closed, deposit the $3.00 permit fee in an envelope just outside the lake office. All residents 16 through 64 years of age, except holders of a Sportsman License or Lifetime Sportsman License, and all nonresidents (regardless of age), must have this permit, which is obtainable at the lake office. Speed boating, water skiing and swimming are not permitted. Houseboats, sailboats and inboard cruisers are prohibited. There is no charge for boat cushions or paddles. Statewide creel and size limits apply with the following exceptions. Only rods and reels, poles and hand-held lines and jugs may be used. Cast nets are illegal on agency lakes. |
