Big Ridge Lake. Big Ridge park is open seven days a week from Memorial Day through Labor Day and also, weekends through the month of September. Canoe, paddleboat and rowboat rentals are available on 49-acre Big Ridge Lake. Visitors may use their own electric trolling motors on park rowboats. Gasoline outboards are not allowed on Big Ridge Lake. Fishing boats, ski boats and waverunners can be launched at the boat ramp on Norris Lake. . The heavily forested, 3,687-acre park lies on the southern shore of TVA's Norris Lake in Union County, Tennessee. It is approximately 25 miles north of Knoxville and is located on Highway 61, 12 miles east of I-75.
Located on the eastern boundary of Norris reservoir about twenty-five miles northeast of Knoxville, Tennessee, Big Ridge Lake was formed by construction of a small dam across one of the arms of the reservoir. This recreation area and the 3,800 acre Noris Park near Norris Dam were developed by the National Park Service and the CCC in cooperation with the Tennessee Valley Authority. |
